Booking and Confirmation

Booking your safari or trekking experience with Barafu Tours & Safaris is straightforward and secure. Once you select your preferred package, confirmation is required in writing through email or our official booking form. A 30% deposit of the total tour cost is required to secure your reservation, and the remaining balance should be paid no later than 30 days before your departure date. Bookings made less than 30 days before the travel date require full payment at the time of confirmation. Upon receiving your deposit, you’ll receive a detailed itinerary, invoice, and official confirmation voucher to finalize your booking.

Payment Methods

We offer multiple payment options for your convenience. Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit or debit card (Visa or MasterCard), or mobile money for local transactions within Tanzania. Please note that all transfer and bank charges are the responsibility of the client. Once payment is received, a confirmation receipt will be issued.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that sometimes travel plans must change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair while maintaining operational commitments with our local partners.

Cancellations made more than 60 days before the tour start date are eligible for a full refund minus transaction fees. Those made between 30 and 59 days receive a 50% refund, while cancellations 15 to 29 days prior qualify for a 25% refund. Unfortunately, cancellations made within 14 days of departure are non-refundable.

Please note that some special accommodations, chartered flights, or seasonal packages may have stricter cancellation rules, which will be clearly communicated at the time of booking.

Tour Modifications

If you wish to make changes to your confirmed itinerary, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request depending on availability and feasibility. Any additional costs resulting from such changes will be borne by the client. In rare circumstances where modifications are necessary due to weather, safety reasons, or park regulations, we will arrange equivalent or upgraded alternatives at no extra cost whenever possible.

Travel Insurance

We highly recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance before arriving in Tanzania. This should include coverage for medical emergencies, trip cancellations, evacuation, lost luggage, and high-altitude trekking for those climbing Kilimanjaro or Mount Meru. Travel insurance offers peace of mind and ensures you are fully protected during your adventure.

Company Responsibility & Liability

Barafu Tours & Safaris works with trusted hotels, lodges, airlines, and transportation providers to ensure quality service at all times. However, as an intermediary, we cannot accept liability for delays, cancellations, or losses beyond our control, such as natural disasters, political unrest, or flight disruptions. We also reserve the right to decline or remove any participant from a tour if their behavior compromises the safety or enjoyment of others.

Health and Fitness Requirements

Guests are responsible for ensuring they are physically and medically fit to participate in their chosen activities. It’s essential to disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or dietary restrictions when booking, so that we can make suitable arrangements to accommodate your needs safely.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Barafu Tours & Safaris only collects and uses personal information necessary for booking and travel management purposes. We do not share your details with third parties except when required to fulfill travel arrangements. All personal data is handled in strict confidence and in accordance with data protection regulations.
